About Us
Pam’s Place is a Nursery School in the Southern suburbs of Johannesburg ranging from ages 18 months to 5 years old. Our school offers a very specialised service, as we are quaint and our school is limited to only 35 students per year. We offer an 8:1 student teacher ratio.
Our mission is to take advantage of the teachable moments that happen every day by fostering the intellectual, creative, social, emotional and physical growth and development of our students and to inspire a lifelong commitment to learning. A caring, co-operative school environment that promotes cultural values and supports positive relationships and respectful interactions. Our priority is to provide a healthy balance of child-direct and teacher-guided activities as well as time for children to work individually, in small groups and in large groups. We look forward to working closely with families which will provide an integrated, comprehensive approach to learning.
We offer the perfect solution for any parent looking for childcare ranging from full day to half day. We offer a flat flee inclusive of all 4 meals, stationery, and toiletries so our busy working parents can be reassured that everything is taken care of, in seeking the ideal childcare solution.

Education
The education is devised on a personal and social approach to each and every individual child from the age of 18 months to 5 years. As an educational establishment we pride ourselves in facilitating the foundations of every child by following the early years foundation stage.
At Pam’s Place we believe that children learn through movement and repetition, we focus on the foundations of letter formation, number formation, pencil grip, fine and gross motor skills, nursery rhymes, story time, imaginative and free structured play as well as creative craft activities.
We follow a scheduled time frame where our day is run according to time, thus allowing children to fall into a smooth routine.
18 Months to 3 Years
The focus at this age is on socialization, self-control and independence. In order for children to develop critical thinking skills, they must be free to experience and manipulate objects in their surroundings. Socialization without overbearing adult intervention allows the child to gain the valuable skill of conflict resolution. Learning through play provides little ones the freedom to learn through self-exploration and discovery and therefore bringing order and satisfaction to their lives.
3 Years To 5 years
Our classroom is designed, equipped and furnished to facilitate learning in a comfortable, child-centered environment. The carefully designed materials allow children to physically manipulate objects that promote knowledge. There is focus on grace, courtesy, respect and independence. The overall goal is to provide a caring environment in which individual development needs are satisfied through the use of manipulative materials and guidance of all the staff. The child is free to learn at an individual pace; here the child will gain independence, self-esteem and respect for others.
